Hell of the Living Dead and a few others goodies will be on next month’s list! As for your Burial Ground post, haven’t read it yet but I’ll check it out. I’m always down for a new release of this film.

Great list, Brian (incidentally I just posted about another upcoming Burial Ground dvd release a few hrs before this was posted. Talk ’bout coincidence, LOL). I beg to differ with you, Jin. These are not outside the box, in fact I’d say they’re stable nutrition to the serious horror film fan. Maybe to newbies raised on Hollywood teen horror like Scream but to the hardcore fan? No. xD xD xD
I would probably have included Mattei’s Hell of the Living Dead but, hey, maybe that’s for the next trashy zombie list, eh.

I love trashy, gory and brilliant Italian zombie films so I had to recommend these for the hardcore cult fans.

Land was a serious disappointment, Diary was unoriginal and Romero, in my opinion, had way too much of a hand in burying his competition and Survival was…well…stupid. Bad stupid. His new films make homages like Shaun and Dead Snow look like genius masterworks.

I don’t understand where GAR is going with any of this. I don’t want him to break any new ground. Just give me a dependable, enjoyable Zombie romp. If he feels he’s said all he has to say, I can respect that as long as he stops giving us stuff like this ! He lost me after Land Of The Dead and I will defend anyone’s right to not like that one.

It’s funny you should bring this up, we must be on the same wavelength, but I was just asking around about obtaining a copy for my collection because I enjoyed it so much! It’s a shame it’s OOP. I’ll be sure to work up a review!

I have two from the 2nd series (New Female Prisoner & Cellblock X), 1 from the third (Scorpion’s Revenge) and Joe Ma’s Sasori. They’re all fun in their own way but the Meiko Kaji films will always hold the dearest place in my heart. I love them.

Thankfully that’ll be changing soon enough, Eastern Star (Discotek Media) are releasing Jailhouse 41 on DVD, dragging it from the abyss of OOP hell! The Scorpion series is amazing!

Simon Yam, Anthony Wong and Suet Lam are undoubtedly my favorite HK actors. Gotta give Fatty some love!
