OOP DVD

A group of movie producers get together to discuss the details of a movie they’re interested in making. The topic of characters and their motivations come up and so the ACTUAL film begins and we’re introduced to the imaginary films’ characters and the sexy ups and downs they experience during their everyday lives.

The word “sexploitation” holds a ton of possibilities because we all love the word “sex” but those that are familiar with sexploitation films know these films often offer you the world and deliver on very little. I suppose in some ways that was the point, exploit people’s desire to see sex, collect their money and leave them feeling pissed that they fell for something nobody in particular actually promised.

The Sexperts is a long, boring empty promise with an annoying 50s-style education film narrator yammering on and on about the characters. I must admit, I felt burned. There was no sex, just old school “people laying on couches in their underwear making out to lame beach party music on the turntable while people dance like idiots” garbage. Sure, there’s a little skin on display here but with a title like The Sexperts, you expect a bit more than a few quick colorized semi-nude inserts. Some may call this “classy,” I call this “gassy” because it was a whole lot of hot air capable of clearing a room of viewers.

The only standout part of this release was the 2nd disc containing a series of nude women in short video clips from 1965. They’re all gorgeous women with great bodies but the clips are all beaverless so don’t expect a “happy ending” with this 2-disc set.

This was neither groovy nor sexy; I must be a square or something because I was really disappointed with The Sexperts. The 2nd disc however was hot, not scorching “get the tissues” hot, but it delivered on the sleaze the actual feature did not. If you’re a fan of sexploitation, specifically the impossibly boring kind, you’re going to find this an instant classic. Those of you that demand more from your sleaze…like…sleaze…well this flick’s nothing but talk.
